Joshua Tree retreat

APRIL 25 - 29 2024

What nature creates has eternity in it
— Isaac Bashevis Singer

Spring, the season of potentiating. Of mapping out what we wish to unfold in the expansive season of warmth and growth ahead. Yet without a clear vision, our intention can be distorted. This is where the vast landscape of the desert and cosmos serve as an opportunity to drop inward and gain insight. There is a universe within us, just as there is outside of us, and the parallels of atmospheric and somatic space are innumerable. This connection serves as an opportunity to explore what is vast and mysterious, yet sparks inspiration and curiosity. It is that space within us that is completely unconditioned. What is yet to be birthed is held right at its origin: this source is our deep space within.

During our time together, we’ll intersect practices that connect the exploration of movement with the experience of wonder and awe.

We will spend five days in one of the planets known landmarks for increased energy. These landmarks amplify frequencies and magnify what we bring from the human experience on an emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental plane of consciousness.

“The desert is a natural extension of the inner silence of the body” — Jean Baudrillard

Our relationship with the deep space within and around us is what connects us to primordial creativity. This is where we tame impulse, so that insight can arise. More often than not, we are driven by conditioning rather than the spark of awe that connects us to our source. This source dates back to the formation of stars, the building blocks for humans and our planet. From our encoded DNA to the minerals in our body, nearly all elements were forged from the life and death cycle of stars.

The body is an amazing built-in self help tool when accessed for its wisdom.

Location

The Joshua Tree area of the Southern California High Desert region is known for its unique trees, expansive views of the milky way, and otherworldly sunrises and sunsets. It’s energetically charged land is one of the most powerful places on the planet, magnetizing inspiration and creativity in its vastly untouched landscape.

The Mojave Desert draws international visitors and nature lovers from around the world due its vast protected Joshua Tree National Park. Characterized by rugged boulder formations, cacti, wildlife and the iconic twisted, spiky Joshua trees, the landscape resiliently flourishes and provides nourishment to a variety of living species.

Between our sessions together, take in the stunning desert before you settle into the evening and enjoy breathtaking sunsets and beautifully shining stars.

We will explore how the human body shares the design of the solar system through deep exploration of mind, body, and the space between.

"The distribution of energy follows definite paths which may be studied by means of geometric construction."

— Michael S. Schneider
